Giants promote LHP Misch from Triple-A Fresno
DENVER — San Francisco purchased the contract of left-hander Patrick Misch from Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday.
To make room for Misch on the 40-man roster, the Giants had to recall righty Kelyn Acosta from Single-A San Jose and place on him on the 60-day disabled list with a right elbow strain.
Misch was 4-2 with a 4.02 ERA in 65 innings at Fresno .
The Giants used seven pitchers in a 20-8 loss to Colorado on Monday. Giants manager Felipe Alou could insert Misch, who made 10 starts at Fresno , if another game gets out of hand.
“That's why Misch is here,” Alou said. “I like him because he could give us a number of innings.”
Misch walked out of the clubhouse Tuesday trying to quickly break in his new Giants hat.
“It's great to be out here,” Misch said. “They told me to stay on my toes and be ready whenever. I'm ready.”
